Earlier this month, the American Folklore Society (AFS) launched a brand new, redesigned website for their society. The color scheme is significantly brighter than before, and on first glance, the site appears to be much easier to navigate and read. It’s even mobile friendly! Their announcement calls this “a visual redesign that matches the vibrancy, relevance, and immediacy of our field.”
For those who are interested in the history of the society, an image showing the transformation of the AFS logo over the years was also included in the announcement. They share that “Each generation of the image, including our new logo, reminds us of the many ways that the interweaving of cultures and traditions shapes the field of folklore and the world that we live in. “
Visitors are invited to explore the new website at https://americanfolkloresociety.org and AFS also states that the old web address, afsnet.org, will now be used exclusively for members-only content.
